I’ve got some experience in the internet marketing world and there are a few things that helped my business grow and expand. The first thing was my ability to network with others. I started going to seminars. I’ve been to about 200 but I stopped going to them around 2001 or 2002. I’d attend a few but was out of it. Then a few years ago I started going to them again. I can’t tell you how many people you can meet going to these functions.
I had someone call me that I met at a seminar and he has a list of about 50,000 people. He wants to become my affiliate and push the products that I sell. I didn’t even remember him. But as we talked I asked him how he found out about me and he said he met me at a seminar. Networking at seminars is huge. Most people ask me how in the world you can get someone to become your affiliate.
I learned this as a seo technique, you have to connect with a person to where they like you. You have to tell it like it is and put a little bit of creativity in your presentation. The talk between you and the other person has to click. The figures have to work. But again you have to have a connection with the person so that they like you.
If someone likes you they are more willing to do something for you. People usually like the people that they network with. Those that want to get out there and share. These are important things for me and I can’t stress how good it was to get back out and socialize in these networks at these seminars. If you look you can find some really good seminars.
I don’t think there is such a thing as a bad seminar. The price might be $500 to $1000, but there is so much that you can learn from them. What are people selling? How do they make point A stick with point B? What kind of offers are they making? Watch and see how much money they are making selling their product. These are all important points that you can learn from.
Another thing I wanted to bring up is that you have to learn to love your spam. Learn to like those pop up banners that you see. You can learn a lot from just reading spam. Look at how the offer is put together and copy the same thing that they are doing. This is aggressive cleverness.
Have you looked at your competition? How well do you strike up a conversation with someone else? I know some people that I can obtain instant criticisms from something I might throw at them. These are also the people that will sell my products to the people that they know.
In closing, become skilled at going to seminars. Examine your competition. See what they might be doing that you can copy. These are just some of the things you can do in your internet marketing plan.
