Chances are you struggle (like I do) with finding good keywords. I can find keywords all day long. I have a problem finding good ones.
When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. Why wouldn’t I? Big company like that shouldn’t be giving false figures. Turns out they do and they don’t.
Any data you get isn’t accurate. At the time it was put together it will have been perfectly correct. I stumbled across the solution to this particular conundrum.
I homed in on a key phrase with roughly 5000 competing websites. I felt I could do well with that one. I started churning out articles by the bucket load.
Soon after I noticed Google telling me there was about 9000 competing pages now. I could hardly believe that. Had there been some mistake? It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.
What I’m saying is that I would have left it alone had I saw over 9000 competing sites. As a lot of them were mine (or had my article on) I was competing against my self most of the time. A good result all round in my opinion.
Not wanting to rely on luck every time I thought I’d try a keyword research service. My hope was to get some ‘killer’ keywords delivered by email every day. I had figured that the daily cost against how much work I would save is value for my money.
I chose to give Travis Sago’s Instacash keyword service a go. After all, he’s the king of the bum marketers. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.
If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. If I can save two hours work each day that’s something I’ll grab with both hands. If I contrast a couple hours of my time against the cost each day it has to be value.
Outsourcing, outsourcing, outsourcing. Seems to be all you hear from the gurus of internet marketing. I see this as an outsourcing project. Outsourcing my keyword research to someone else.
