Offsite SEO (search engine optimization) is all about back links! You should practice good onsite seo as well as offsite seo, but the lions share of your time should be spent on building high quality back links (offsite seo) and strive for the coveted #1 spot in the serps. A very good place to be if traffic (and the money making opportunities that come with traffic) is your goal!
Back links vary in strength and authority in the eyes of the search engines. So which backlinks should you concentrate on? here are some of the places I get my backlinks from, you will find these to be some of the best out there:
Completely “natural” back links-These would be links from other webmasters who feel your content is so good, or so complete, or so…you get the picture. Keep all your content as “high quality” as you can, as this can build backlinks in and of itself! These are the kind of links that will make Google take notice of your blog! Also with this type of link it takes no effort on your part (after you write the piece of course), you just check your back links and ‘voila’ there they are!
Links from the top blogs in your niche-While hard to come by, these can be very beneficial! Whether you trade for them, buy them (frowned upon by Goog!) or whatever, they can give you blog a much needed boost up the serps!
Writing and Submitting Articles-This is hands down, my favorite way to get high quality, relevant, back links. It should be a part of your overall SEO plan as well. By becoming the “expert” on your niche topic, you can find additional research unnecessary, and writing about this topic can be done quickly and easily! You too can become an article writing superstar. I’ve written as many as 5 good solid articles in just a few hours, and so can you! Your article marketing needs to be an ongoing effort, with fresh content submitted weekly if not daily.
Find the high PR sites in your niche and offer to write a high quality, unique “guest post”-Just for their blog, this will give you some of the best backlinks. You may be surprised to find a lot of “takers” out there. Of course you include a backlink or two in your post.
Build Blogger blogs, Hubpages, Squidoo Lenses-These can supply link-juice to your main site, and may turn a profit themselves. Once you realize some success, you need to expand in that very same niche to make even more money! Build more blogs, hubpages, lens, etc. in your niche-become your own competition-get more than one of your pages in the top of the serps.
Get listed in Blog Directories-Tends to be a bit time consuming, but is worthwhile nonetheless.
Leave comments on other blogs and posts on related forums-Be sure you’re comments and posts are not spammy, you don’t want them deleted:o). Comment of related blogs in your niche, but make sure the links will be do-follow, also look for blogs that have Keywordluv/Commentluv plugins, as well as the Top Commentator plugin (as this can give you a site-wide link!).
Time to get social-you know start digging, twittering, stumbling, tumblring, and all the rest!
You should try to spend most of your time online improving your offsite seo (building back links) and the rest on content creation as well as onsite seo. Because search engine traffic is hands down the easiest to monetize, it behoves you to build all the high quality backlinks you can, which in turn will move you up the serps! Good luck, and remember it’s all about backlinks, backlinks, and even more backlinks!
